This lab will be used as either a review before the final evaluation (Day 5) of the plant adaptation unit (Thrive and Survive) or as the final evaluation of the unit (Day 6). This lab helps identify key words that are used during this unit. This lab would take up the full time needed during a Science lesson (45-50 minutes). This current activity was completed at a nearby park due to lots of construction of the school building. The current school has little areas right now including not having any playground area. This current lab would have to be done as a school field trip. Parent volunteers would be needed to help set up the park area with clues and to make sure questions don’t get disturbed. Moving the lab to more of a stable surrounding will help avoid any issues of way points being moved or uprooted. The only issue being at the park would deal with the weather conditions outside. This lab would have to be planned just right to help avoid issues of rain. It would be best to do during spring or the fall. Doing the lab at the park is the least likely place that waypoints marked will be removed.
